The SNOW STORM -- We learn, by the drivers of the Eastern stages, that the late Snow Storm was very severe in that direction; the the delay of Wednesday morning's Western Mail shews it was severe in that quarter -- but it appears that to the South East, at the Vineyard, Falmouth, N. Bedford, & c. it was but little felt.
We understand that the late storm was scarcely noticed at Plymouth, only 40 miles Southeast of Boston -- and we hear that vessels sailed from the Vineyard on Tuesday last, for Boston with a wind at S W.
A letter from Haverhill, Mass., dated the 17th inst., says "Such a snow storm we have not had for several years. No mail has arrived since Monday. I undertook to go as far as Ipswich, but was obliged to turn back, after I had proceeded three miles."

Extract of a letter to the Editors, dated Jereimie, Oct. 21m 1823.
On Saturday last, I had the satisfaction of seeing two Pirates shot at this place, these two were those who robbed an Indigene brig, (I believe in June last), and murdered all hands. A few more such examples would tend to prevent others from entering into that lawless and infamous business.
I am obliged to send this by way of Port au Prince, A sch. is here from Prtsmouth."

The late New Orleans expedition against a reported body of insurgent slaves. is thus ridiculed in the Louisiana Advertiser.
"After passing an hour and a half in trying to find an enemy, without success, the commanding officer thought it best to go in search of one. Fortunately there were no wind mills on the route, for, like Don Quixote, if there had been, it is very much feared, for want of some other foe, orders would have been given to attack them. The troops debouched through the cane field, and penetrated into the swamp in the rear. Here, after wading through mud and amongst alligators and snakes, for about five miles, they found themselves arrived at a point where the Civil Staff emphatically declared "the world came to an end, and they could not go any further without jumping off ! ! ". As the troops felt no disposition to explore Capt. Symmes's shell at present, they wisely concluded to face to the right about, and retire. They fired a feu de joie, and after picking up their wounded, (for killed they had none)), they principally fell back on the plantations, and bivouced for the rest of the night. A part, however, who had got lost in the swamp made their escape by way of the Metaree road and all got safe to town."
