DIED
In North Bridgewater, ist inst., Mr. Lucius Packard, son of the late Mr. Isaiah P., 26.
At Ponce, Puerto Rico, Mr. Geo. Hall Loring, son of Col. Joseph L., of Charlestown. We cannot permit the publishment of the decease, without adding a passing tribute to the memory of one, who, while living, was so much beloved, and who, now dead, is so much regretted. Seldom in the enjoyment of robust health it has been his practice to spend the winter months in the West INdies, where he found active employment by attending to the business which was entrusted in his care. Accounts from him, until a few days previous to his decease, recently received here, were most encouraging in relation to his health, when the mournful intelligence of his death soon followed. His loss will be severely felt by his family and friends -- but they no doubt find consolation in the thought, that although his eyes were closed by foreign hands, and his body laid in foreign soil, his soul will be permitted to inherit that rank in the Redeemer's Kingdom which a life so well spent seems to entitle it.
At Pt. Pette, the celebrated Equestrian, Master Wm. Blanchard. pg 2 col 5
