RECENT DEATHS
James T. Breen
James T. Breen, a Connecticut man, died in Chicago last week, aged 36. He practiced law in Naugatuck two years since which time he has been located in the West part of the time in Arizona and part in Chicago. His remains will arrive in Naugatuck today and will be buried on Tuesday morning from St. Francis's Roman Catholic Church. Mr. Breen studied law with William C. Calteren of Woodbury, this state, and was admitted to practice law in 1881. He was a republican in politics, stumped Connecticut for Blaine in 1884 and Illinois for Harrison in 1888. His father, three sisters and one brother live in Naugatuck.

Hester Edwards
Hester Edwards died in East New London the last of last week, aged 102 years, 6 months and 9 days. She was a remarkable woman, possessing all her faculties up to within and hour of her death. Mrs. Edwards was the widow of the late Joseph Edwards of Waterford, who was a veteran in the war of 1812. Up to six years ago she resided in Waterford, when she removed to the home of relatives in East New London.

Mary Noble Hicks
Mary Noble Hicks, daughter of the Rev. Dr. Noble, formerly pastor of the Center Church, New Haven, died in CHicago, July 4. Dr. Noble was on his way to Europe at the time but returned to Chicago after his daughter's death.

Mrs. Ann M. King
Mrs. Ann M. King, formerly of New Haven, has recently died at Vevey, France. She was the widow of J.W. King, and mother of Mrs. Bentley, both of New Haven.

GRIFFIN -- In Canton at the residence of his son-in-law, A.B. Welton, Willard Griffin, of West Granby, aged 85.
ROWLEY -- In Bloomfield, July 23, Lucia Bidwell, wife of William H. Rowley, aged 25.
CHAPIN -- In Foxboro, Mass., July 16, Mariam M. Griswold, wife of the late Jno. B. Chapin, aged 74. Burial at WIndsorville, Conn.

Griggs - Cooke
Miss Annie S. Cooke and Mr. John C. Griggs, Yale '90, were married yesterday afternoon at 1:30 at the residence of the bride's father, Mr. C. W. Cooke of Yalesville. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Mr. Griggs of Ivoryton, the groom's father, in the presence of relatives and a few near friends. Mr. and Mrs. Griggs will live at Norwich.
Mr. Griggs graduated from the Hartford High School in '85, and was the orator of his class. He has been the assistant principal of the Norwich Academy since his graduation from Yale. He was a very popular man in college, and he was one of the leading bass singers in the glee club for three years. He was a member of the Lit. board, a junior exhibition speaker, and took various class honors.

RECENT DEATHS
Mrs. Betsy Wilcoxson
Mrs. Betsy Wilcoxson, aged 82 years, died in Derby on Tuesday evening. She was born in Derby February 22, 1807 and her parents were Mr. and Mrs. Abram Tibbals. Mrs. Wilcoxson resided all her life in Derby and was a member of the Episcopal Church. She was married sisty years ago to S.G. Wilcosxson. Besides her husband, one son, Frederick A. Wilcoxson of North Adams, Mass., survives her.

Mrs. Mary Swift
Mrs. Mary Swift of Derby, died suddenly Wednesday evening of heart failure. She was 86 years of age and was born and always lived in Derby. She has a nephew in the Birmingham National Bank. She passed the early part of the evening with her family and reitred saying she did not feel well. She died soon after retiring.

Miss Eliza Mansfield
Miss Eliza Mansfield died Wednesday in New Haven, aged 91. She had eaten her breakfast and was sitting in a chair when a question was addressed to her. She made no reply and investigation showed that she was dead. A physician pronounced death due to old age. Miss Mansfield was the eldest daughter of William Mansfield, a tinsmith who did business on State street, New Haven, many years ago. She was the survivor of a family of eight children.

Mrs. Sarah M. Munson
Mrs. Sarah M. Munson, widow of the late Eugene Munson of Winsted, died Tuesday morning of Bright's disease. The funeral services were held Thursday afternoon. Burial was at South Cemetery.

SOUTHINGTON
At the annual meeting of the Southington Cutlery Company the board of directors elected were: M.C. Ogden, George Munson and W. R. Walkley of New York, R.A. Neal, J. W. Gridley, J.F. Pratt, E. J. Neal.
M.C. Ogden was elected president and J.W. Gridley, secretary and treasurer. A quarterly dividend of 3 per cent was declared.

Mrs. Charles Hatton and daughter Lillie, are spending the remainder of the summer in Pittsfield, Mass.

George N. Williams is assistinf at the national bank during the absence of Cashier Curtis.

John Gaynor leaves for Providence on Monday, having obtained a position there.

WINSTED
On Thursday evening the selectman brought a child named Gunther from Thomaston. The child was born in Winsted, its mother is in the insane asylum and the father ran away.

MILFORD
A pleasant lawn party was given at the residence of W. T. Fife at Woodmont, Wednesday evening, by the Ladies' Aid Society of the Woodmont Chapel.

Mrs. Eldridge T. Gerry of New York is suffering from nervous prostration.

WILLIAM A. GREEN
A Sudden Death in South Coventry

William A. Green of South Coventry died very suddenly at his home on Sunday of neuralgia of the heart, aged 82 years. He was born in Franklin, but spent the greater part of his life in Lisbon, residing in Coventry during the past twenty years. His wife died a few years ago. Of ten children seven are living, viz: Alonzo B. Green of this place, Charles A. Green of Worcester, Mass., George H. Green of Collinsville, William H. Green of Rockville, Nelson Green of Hampton, Mrs. H. Vickers of Willimantic, Mrs. Faulkner, living at home. Two sons were killed in the army.
Mr. Green was in Willimantic Saturday. He was a hard working man and highly respected citizen.
