Edward W. Parsons was appointed trustee of the insolvent estate of Richard J. Ganley, yesterday.
The funeral of the late Edwin D. Tiffany occurs to-day at 3 p.m. at the house, No 1 Wethersfield avenue.
Mr. L. H. . Moody of this city, who was for many years in the sash and blind business on Market street, died on Sunday, aged 71 years.
William Lucas was arrested here, yesterday. charges with evading his board bill at David Vadid's, a restaurant keeper in Waterbury.
and James Cunningham got into a drunken row in an Italian boarding house on Charles street, last night, and were arrested.
Mr. F. W. Reynolds, who is soon to leave this city, will be given a supper nest Saturday evening. All his friends who wish to join the entertainment may leave their names with James H. Parker, 17 Central Row.
Alderman H. B. Philbrick has secured Charles E. Perkins as counsel in the Seventh ward constested election cases. Mayor Talcott has retained Hyde & Joslyn. The case will be argued before Judge Thayer in the superior court, Friday morning at 9 o'clock.
The deaths of three of the "Harrison Veterans of 1840" were announced in THE COURANT yesterday, vis :Edwin T. Tiffany, in his 80th year; Lyman H, Moody 72; and Hiram Haven, 77. The organization lost five members in February. This is a loss of Eleven so far this year.

Dr. J. S. Butler remained last night in a critical condition. It is thought that he might not live out the night.
Mr. James A. Lounsbury son of lawyer Cooke Lounsbury, of this city, has been appointed secretary and electrical engineer of the National Engineering Bureau of Chicago, a company recently organized to do all kinds of electrical and mechanical engineering.
