BECKY'S MEMORIES: Oh my gosh I remember so much about grandma since I spent so much time with her. The thing that always made me laugh was she would be sitting outside or inside and she would be sleeping and I would say grandma are you sleeping and she would always reply "no I am just resting my eyes." She taught me how to bake , and I was always willing to clean up at her house, but not at home. Somehow cleaning at grandma's house was so much more fun. She loved it when I would comb her hair, she would rest her eyes then! When I think of grandma I remember how happy I was with her, she believed in me and said I could do anything.
The Music boxes - Remember all the music boxes, I would have them all going at the same time and grandma would never say anything . We would spend time watching out the window for birds she said cardinals were good luck and every time I see one I tell who ever I'm with that they are good luck . Also if you dropped any silverware it meant you were going to have company but I am not sure anymore if the spoon was a woman and so on can you remember that? Thanks Cyndie for letting me go back and talk about grandma I haven't had much to smile about lately but remembering grandma makes me smile!
CYNDIE'S MEMORIES: She had a collection of little dogs in a glass bookcase. I remember taking them all out, rearranging them by breed or size.
She and Grandad loved to fish. She caught a very large paddlefish one time and had it mounted on the wall above the fireplace. There was a picture of it in the local newspaper. Kathy Raser now has it.
Berry picking, bird watching, gardening. Cooked a lot with cream of mushroom soup. Frog legs, rabbit. pickle recipes.
