Charles Mickle, 82, dies at Erie
Erie - Charles Mickle, 82, died at 1 yesterday morning in the home of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs Harry James, near Erie where he had resided most of the time since the death of Mrs. Mickle in 1935.
Tentative funeral services are set for tomorrow afternoon at the Harry James home at 1:30 and in the United Brethren Church in Fenton at 2:30. The Rev. Melvin Fiscus, pastor of the Erie Christian Church will officiate. Burial will be in the Fenton cemetery.
Son of Alonzo ** and Charity St. Ores Mickle, he was born January 9, 1863, in Ustick township near Morrison. He came with his parents to Fenton township when he was 10 and had resided in that vicinity with an exception of a short time in Kansas. and since he has been in the James home. He was a farmer. Mr. Mickle had been ill after the last few years and became worse two weeks ago.
He married Ellen Elizabeth Showalter Sept 10, 1885.
Survivors are Mrs. Arthur Baxter and Mrs. Harry James of Erie, Mrs. Edwin Dennis of Portland township, Vernon Mickle of Erie, Kenneth Mickle of Hanover, Lulu Reegan of Chicago, a sister, Mrs. Pluma Crocker of Morgan, Minn., sixteen grandchildren and one great grandchild. A daughter, Grace, died in infancy.
