Barry R. "Alex" Alexsavich, 52, of Cambridge, Mass. died Tuesday, March 21, 2006 in Cambridge, Mass. He was born in Bristol March 4, 1954 and was a son of the late William J. and Adaline R. (Knopf) Alexsavich. He was a graduate student at Boston University. He was president of the Institute for Microbial Studies in Cambridge, Mass. He was president of the Connecticut Natural History Foundation, which assisted in the Birge Pond-Hoppers preservation effort. He was a member of the Society of St. John the Evangelist and a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church. His survivors include his brother and sister-in-law, Bruce and Mary Lou Alexsavich of Terryville; and an aunt and uncle, Richard and Jerri Alex of Lebanon, Ore. He was predeceased by two brothers, Bryan R. and William P. Alexsavich. A memorial service will be held Thursday, 11 a.m., at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, 27 Judd St., Bristol.
