Random acts of kindness suggestions. Here are some suggestions where you can truly make a difference.

If you are at a drive-thru - pay or partial pay the order in back of you.

Send food coupons like McDonald's or Dunkin Donuts to your local fire station or police station with a thank you - no return address. You can also do this for caregivers, nurses, etc.

If you own a website - please take a little space & add a banner for the National Center For Missing & Exploited Children

Donate Food or food coupons to a food bank.

Adopt an elderly person in a nursing home. Find out from the staff who has few visitors.

Adopt a veteran in a veteran home or hospital. Send a thank you to the nurses. The one in Iowa was real good to my Dad and I believe if he hadn't been taken care of there - he wouldn't still be with us.

Send a single flower to someone - no reason, no occasion - just to let them know you are thinking about them. The best gifts I ever received were given for no occasion.

Pay a bill that is in collection. You can find them at any town hall under judgement liens. Sometimes they are as small as $100 or less although I would think to pay the lawyers to draw up the collection would exceed the amount that needs to be collected. You can make a copy of that lien and send in payment to the company that has issued the lien. If it is a small town and you have lived there for long time, you know almost everyone. Find an elderly couple who is struggling or a young couple just starting out.

Recognize the difference between a random act and manners. Holding a door open for someone is manners - holding a door open and helping them with their packages is a random act.
Saying thank you is manners - saying thank you anonymously is a random act.
